According to an article in the Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration News, demand for HVAC equipment is expected to rise to nearly $17 billion this year.The study, conducted by The Freedonia Group, an industry market research company, forecasts advances will result from increased spending for residential and non-residential construction, as well as heightened interest in producing more energy-efficient HVACR systems. Additionally, efficiency rating incentives will spur growth among consumers.According to the Freedonia Group’s survey, heat pumps began accounting for the single largest share of heating equipment demand in 2010, and they’ve been gaining market share at the expense of less-efficient equipment ever since.
