The Surgical Technology program at Fortis College in Houston South provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to become essential members of the healthcare team. Often referred to as Surg techs, these skilled members of the team work under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses in the operating room. At Fortis, you will learn from experienced and dedicated faculty as you gain the knowledge and skills you need to become part of the team that provides care to patients during the crucial periods of surgery.
Our Surgical Technologist curriculum is designed to help students gain the competence and confidence they need to pursue an entry-level position as a Surgical Technologist. Led by experienced faculty, students learn in traditional classroom environments, online and through small group instruction. Throughout their program they have opportunities to develop and practice their skills in in real-world hands-on learning environments.
Surgical Tech Schools
Graduates of this diploma program may be found working in surgical centers, delivery rooms, medical clinics and hospitals.
This is a hybrid program, which means that the majority of the program is taken at the campus and several courses within the program (less than 50% of the program) are taken online. The program’s blend of on campus and online courses allows students to experience all the support and services our school has to offer as well the flexibility and convenience of online classes.*
