Before I came to school here I was actually working as a butcher at my family’s grocery store.
It was a family owned business, we had been there since the early ‘90s in Alberta and I worked from the time I was 13 to 23 with my family and then I ended up coming to Fortis because I needed to make a change in my life.
I was like I said kind of at a dead-end job and this got me out to where now I actually make a real difference in the world.
I chose to be a medical assistant because I wanted to help people. Working as a butcher wasn’t really very fulfilling so I needed to take a change and see what I could do to make the world a better place and be a medical assistant seemed to fit.
