Before I attended school I worked at a check cashing place for five years. I felt like I was going nowhere it was just an on-going cycle.
I called my husband and I said, I have to do something. I can’t do this anymore. It’s time to go to school and find something for me; so that’s what I did. We worked on it.
I cleared everything that I was doing. I stopped working just to come to school to make sure that there were no obstacles that would hinder me completing my schooling.
My education has made a big difference because now I feel like I’m in a career and I don’t have to be embarrassed if someone says, oh where do you work? I was kind of embarrassed at other places; I’m good now. I’m not embarrassed. I can shout it to everybody now.
